Lying about halfway between the equator and the north pole Nova Scotia enjoys a moderate climate and milder winters than most of Canada thanks, in part, to the effects of the gulf stream. Although certain areas of B.C. are milder, Nova Scotia is Canada's warmest province overall and therefore, a sought after second home and vacation destination.
With the total population about one million and about forty percent of that living within the capital area of Halifax there is lots of open space throughout the remainder of the province for those who prefer the country life whether it be a private woodland setting, rolling farmland or a classic century home in small town Nova Scotia.
With more than 7000 kilometres of coastline including spectacular beaches and rugged cliffs there is an abundance of Nova Scotia ocean front real estate. With thousands of lakes and rivers there is lots of fresh water frontage in Nova Scotia as well.
